A Paris Photo Diary

Earlier this year I spent a short while in Paris, but nowhere near enough time to write about an entire day or two, or an incredible dining experience, or to recommend a huge list of eating spots you have to check out. What I thought I’d do instead was show what I got up to in a photo diary of sorts. I loved the typical Parisian architecture, the elegant streets, and how they became even more beautiful in the rain. I ticked the essential sights off my bucket list, walked down one of the most expensive shopping districts in the world, and drank hot chocolates that somehow thwarted the Italian ones I had become addicted to. Keep reading to see my Paris photo diary, and if you enjoy it, don’t forget to give this post a “like” so I know!

Paris really turned on the charm for us (not) the day we decided to visit the Eiffel Tower. It was ridiculously cold, windy and rainy, but I didn’t care one bit! The whole time I just could not believe I was really there, seeing the Eiffel Tower. Even though it was dreary weather, it made me realised just how freaking big Paris is, which was a shock considering I had spent the previous three weeks studying in cosy old Florence. After we finished at the Eiffel Tower we were in dire need of food and warmth, so we had a pit stop at this little cafe right near the tower. I loved the floor to ceiling windows and how you could sit right up close to them and see how gorgeous the streets looked in the rain.

Not the same cafe as the one above, but still very cute!

The next day we got some culture and heading straight to the Louvre to see some masterpieces! Every aspect of the Louvre is stunning, from the glass pyramids outside to the impeccable interiors. I thought there would be a huge queue to see paintings such as the Mona Lisa, but we easily merged our way into the crowd surrounding the surprisingly little painting and got a snap to prove we were there!

After finishing at the Louvre and walking through the gardens it was time for lunch, so what better place to go to than Angelina’s! The tea house is famous for their pudding like hot chocolates and Mont Blanc dessert, and in the past has served clients such as Coco Chanel. I had never heard of it, but my travel buddy Natalie had, so we were treated to yet another incredible dining experience. Their hot chocolates are out of this world. Italian ones are really rich and you feel a bit sick afterwards, but these ones were so sweet and smooth and just incredible. I had no idea what to order but ended up picking the little pink treat called ‘Venus’ which was rose-raspberry-lychee flavour and it was amazing.

Once we finished afternoon tea we walked down the Champs Elysées and saw the most decked out Sephora in the world, as well as so many other amazing stores from every designer brand you could think of. At the very end though was the Arc de Triomphe! The sun was also starting to come out, which was the perfect way to finish off an already incredible time in Paris!

So that was my Paris photo diary! I loved my short time there but would love to go back there during the warmer months! I also had a lot of fun putting this post together, so if you enjoyed it too, don’t forget to give it a “like” so I know!

  1. Ahhhh this makes me feel so nostalgic!! Also completely agree on the Parisian hot chocolates thwarting the Italian ones, I’m pretty sure I drank more hot chocolate in France than I did water! xx
