Can you believe we’re already up to the tenth instalment in my RuCreate The Look series? I’m absolutely loving season nine of RuPaul’s Drag Race and think this is the strongest cast of queens we’ve seen in a long time – I don’t want this season to end! The latest episode gave us the annual makeover challenge, and I couldn’t help but fall in love with Sasha’s makeup look. So, this post is dedicated to her! Keep reading to how I’d rucreate something similar, plus to read my thoughts on this week’s episode. If you enjoy this post, please give it a “like” so I know, and let’s crack on with it!
Yesterday my blog reached an exciting milestone – it hit 1,000 followers! Cue all the confetti, dancing women and champagne emojis here. When I started my blog back in December 2015, I never expected to hit 100 followers, let alone ten times that amount, so thank you so much to anyone who has ever supported my blog! When I hit 100 followers I did a similar thank you post, and everything I wrote then still stands true today! However, for the sake of not just regurgitating what’s in that post, I thought today I could share some blogging tips. Recently a friend messaged me asking for advice on how to set up her own blog, and while I helped with the technical side of it all, I also couldn’t help myself from sharing with her what I consider to be some tips for getting your blog off the ground. So, keep reading to see my thoughts on it all, and if you enjoy this post please give it a “like” so I know!
While I consider myself pretty social media savvy, it took me a long time to get into Pinterest. Once I discovered there’s more to the site than just DIY’s for mums, I fell thick and fast, pinning posts to my various boards left, right and centre. I now love Pinterest and scroll through the never ending feed of inspiration every few days. There’s one downside to it though – it’s gotten me obsessed with so many things. From accessories and fashion to furniture and even specific colour schemes, Pinterest has now hooked me up with a bunch of new obsessions. So, let’s get into the pinnable goodness and hopefully you might find some new obsessions – or at least understand the enthusiasm and go “same, girl, same”. For this week’s RuCreate The Look instalment I’m rucreating… absolutely nothing, because episode nine of RuPaul’s Drag Race gave us an out of this world, one of a kind Club Kid Couture runway theme that left me applauding. While I won’t ‘rucreate’ any of the sensational looks, I’ll be reviewing every single one of them in my own little ‘Fashion Photo Ruview’, with less Raja and Raven and more gifs. If you enjoy this post please give it a “like” so I know, and let’s get into the literal art that walked down the runway.
With episode eight of RuPaul’s Drag Race providing us with The Roast of Michelle Visage, it seemed only right to dedicate this week’s RuCreate The Look to the women herself! I have so much love and respect for Michelle. She’s such a realistic mother bear to the queens, giving constructive feedback to help them improve, constantly touring with them and even helping some of them through addictions. She’s absolutely gorgeous, but this season her makeup is literally flawless. So, let’s jump into how I’d rucreate something similar to the beat she was sporting and then get into my episode rucap! Since I love seasonal makeup edits so much I decided to cut my usual ‘Autumn Makeup Picks’ in half for double the beauty! Since I previously posted ‘The Autumnal Eye Edit‘ featuring a bunch of my favourite eyeshadow palettes and shades, today I’m discussing my go-to lip products for Autumn! To me this seasonal is all about those rich, vampy tones, so my Autumnal lip picks feature a bunch of shades from metallic burgundies and burnt oranges to reds and deep cranberries. For this week’s RuCreate The Look post I was inspired by not a runway look, but a makeup look from the main challenge! The queens were tasked with acting out an episode from 9021H0, and I became obsessed with Valentina’s Monna Dartin look. From the nude lip to the light blue eyeshadow to the overall styling, her look screamed 90’s perfection and I just had to feature it! Keep reading to see what products I’d use to rucreate something similar, and to also read my thoughts about this weeks episode!
