The weather has finally gone cold! Winter is finally coming! I’ve been waiting for the hot, humid Australian Summer to beat it, but it decided to hang around all Autumn – until now! This past weekend was amazing as it was cold enough to rug up but not completely freezing. Here’s a little outfit of the day (OOTD) post from what I wore last Saturday when I ventured into town with my mum and sister for some much needed shopping.
I’m this weeks featured blogger on Clarina Beauty! I love Clarina and her content so much, so it is amazing to see a little post on her blog about me! Follow the link below to see my full interview and learn a little more about me.
I’m so excited to announce I’m starting a new beauty series on my blog! Starting with this post, every now and then I’m going to do a profile on a brand I own quite a few items from and give you a break down of what I love and would improve about their products. Today’s post is going to be all about Maybelline New York as over the years I’d gathered quite a nice little haul of what they have to offer. So, let’s see how they stack up!
While to some beauty aficionados the trend isn’t new, it seems like nowadays every brand, from high end to drugstore has their own line of colour correcting products. BECCA recently released their colour correcting pots, however these sell for $50 each, no thank you! Stila is also about to release their Correct & Perfect palette at Mecca next week, while Urban Decay, L.A. Girl and NYX have had colour correcting concealers out for a while now. But what is colour correcting? And how does one know which colours go wear, and for what purpose? Well I’ve put together a quick crash course to colour correcting to help guide you through the trend and make things a little clearer, so I hope you enjoy it!
Last week was the first Monday of May which meant it was time for the annual Met Gala held in New York City! The Gala is a fundraiser for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, and this years theme was “Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology”. To me the Met Gala is all about designs that are artworks, with hours of work sewn into every detail and meaning behind every decision. Here were my best dressed from this years event!
This past week I’ve been nominated by not one but two fellow bloggers for the Liebster Award! I had to do a quick Google on this, but it’s “an award that exists only on the internet, and is given to bloggers by other bloggers. The earliest case of the award goes as far back as 2011. Liebster in German means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome”. Um, thank you for the nomination!
It’s Beauty Loop Unboxing time! Beauty Loop Boxes are part of the Mecca Beauty Loop where you get a box of free samples to try from Mecca four times a year, and the second box of the year is here! I’m still on Level 1 has I haven’t bought much from Mecca lately (I’m holding out for all those precious new releases from Too Faced which are apparently going to drop in stores at the end of May!) but I thought I’d show you what’s in the box anyway!
It’s a long weekend and I’ve been struck down with a horrendous head cold, the weather’s gone from humid to rainy back to humid, and that annual Justin Timberlake meme is making the rounds on my dashboard – it’s monthly favourites time! I found some new favourites this month and rediscovered some old ones, plus achieved some little life milestones, so let’s get on with it!
