Awards season has been in full force these last few weeks with the Academy Awards just wrapping up today (congratulations Leo!), so I thought now would be the perfect opportunity to share my favourite celebrity red carpet hair and makeup looks for 2016!
Earlier this month I was lucky enough to receive the Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury 8 Piece Brush Set for my 18th birthday and I couldn’t be happier! I have wanted these brushes for so long and after watching countless YouTube tutorials using them and hearing so many rave reviews about them, I’m so amazed that I actually own them now! I thought it’d be a nice idea to share my thoughts on then currently and what I use them for.
Yesterday the new Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons eyeshadow palette finally landed in Mecca Maxima stores across the country and I’m so happy to be able to get one! I’ve been
desperately patiently awaiting this palettes arrival since I first heard of it all the way back in November of last year.
During 2015 I set myself a few “beauty missions” and one of them was to find the perfect foundation for me. I had been using the same one for years, and since getting into makeup I had tried several different eyeshadow palettes, mascaras, concealers and more, but never attempted to revamp my foundation. So whenever I saw that sales were on I jumped at the chance to try out a few different affordable foundations all from varied brands.
Today I thought it’d be a nice idea to share with you my thoughts on each of the foundations I own, what I like and dislike about them, and how they stack up against one and other. Hopefully this helps you decide which foundation might be right for you if you’re currently on the hunt for a new one!
Today I’m going to breakdown what I think makes up the perfect flatlay and share with you the tips and tricks I have learnt over the past few years. While there’s no official definition of the term, a “flatlay” is when you lay items down flat on a surface and take a photo of them for Instagram or your blog (or anywhere really!).
These last few weeks, well actually months, I have been very lucky by having endless amounts of time to get ready every day as I’m currently in that gap between high school ending and university starting. I’ll get all my makeup out, put on some music and just take my time.
However, soon that luxury will come to an end and I know I will need to speed up my morning makeup routine if I ever want to get anywhere on time. This got me thinking about what I consider to be essential everyday makeup items in my collection that I know I’ll be reaching for even when time is short. I also thought it would make a nice blog post, so here are my everyday makeup essentials!
Valentine’s Day is this Sunday and over the past few days my YouTube subscription feed has been populated with both natural and dramatic makeup tutorials, all featuring red lipstick. This got me thinking about what I think is the perfect red lipstick out of the shades I own, and I think I found a new favourite product! A couple weeks ago I received a mini version of the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in the shade Dolce Vita in the Mecca Beauty Loop box, and after finally trying it out I think I’ve fallen in love (mind the “v day” pun).
