My birthday is fast approaching and while the thought of adulthood is terrifying I’ve just been doing what I always do in a crisis – browsing online at things I can’t afford! Since I know I’ll be able to get myself a thing or two with some birthday money, I’ve been creating quite a hefty Wishlist on Mecca.com and thought it would be a nice idea to share with you what I’m most excited to eventually get my hands on!

Last weekend I spent a few days by the beach with some friends, and one lazy afternoon the conversation soon turned to makeup. While we discussed opinions over palettes and foundations and dug through each others collections, one of my friends pointed out that while she enjoyed listening to us, she had no clue what we were on about. This resulted in us all giving tips, advice and explaining what common makeup phrases were and why different methods were used. Since I didn’t have my entire makeup collection with me, it got me inspired to write up my own little “Beginners Guide To Makeup” post once I got back home. So here it is! Whether you’re new to the world of makeup and want to learn a thing or two, or are a seasoned beauty junkie who just wants to brush up on the basics, I hope you enjoy this post and get something out of it! Today I’m going to share some affordable products I think would make great introductions into the world of makeup plus clarify what some terms mean.
Chi Chi brought out some amazing holiday gifts last Christmas which included lipsticks, eyeshadow palettes, bronzers, blushes, perfumes and more. I ended up picking up the Viva La Diva Lipstick Collection in Nude (it also came in another set of four red and purple lipsticks) as I had been wanting to try out Chi Chi lipsticks for a while and also wanted to find a perfect nude shade for Summer, so I thought this set was the perfect thing for me! I picked this up after Christmas as it was on sale for $26.00 down from $38.00. If you bought all these lipsticks separately they would have cost $75.80, so I think I found a great bargain!

On December 4th 2015 Troye Sivan released his first studio album Blue Neighbourhood, and after receiving it for Christmas I have absolutely fallen in love with it! I thought it would be nice to make a little review post on the album but much like every other critic I just love everything about it and every song and even the aesthetic and design of the cover and CD. It’s all just perfect and looks gorgeous photographed, so I hope you enjoy my little Troye Sivan Appreciation Post.

For Christmas I received the “Merry Christmas” gift box set from Lush Cosmetics and I couldn’t be happier! As someone who it yet to try out all their face masks and scrubs, bath bombs are a guaranteed favourite of mine and this set included 5 Christmas themed ones! I’m aware I’m writing this post in January and that these exact products won’t be in Lush stores by this point, but I thought it would be nice to share my thoughts on them and maybe inspire you to pop into a Lush store yourself to check out their year round products!

A few months ago my sister travelled the UK and when she came home she brought me back heaps of Zoella Beauty products! I was so excited about it all that I took a flatlay, tagged Zoe and her official Zoella Beauty product account, and low and behold a few days later her account actually regrammed my photo! I couldn’t believe it, not in my wildest dreams did I ever expect one of my flatlays to be seen, let alone liked and freaking regrammed, by one of my favourite people in the world. Here’s a screenshot of the photo:

As we’ve well and truly hit the hotter months of the year, I thought it’d be a nice idea to share with you my summer wardrobe essentials! Up until this year I’ve always hated summer and the fashion that comes with it. Growing up with a curvy hourglass figure always made me feel self conscious, with tight denim shorts and strappy singlets just not making me feel good. I like covering up but accentuating my small waist, and as I’ve grown up this year has become the first time in a long time that I’ve actually really enjoyed dressing for summer and felt happy, confident yet effortless. That calls for a celebratory blog post! I’ve gathered together the items I’ve been wearing heaps recently to create a little flatlay look book, so I hope you enjoy it and find some summer style inspiration!
